Fresh local walnuts - thank you @the_clatford_beekeeper We're not sure of the best way to extract the walnuts from their green casings but a gentle tap with a hammer worked for us though for anyone else who may be taking this task on, make sure you wear gloves as they leave a nasty yellow stain on your skin as Amanda found out!! We'll be drying these out for a few weeks now before we start to enjoy them, adding them to our range of cakes and chutneys. Oaktrack free range chickens are reared with our core beliefs of high welfare and natural growth in mind. The birds are allowed to mature slowly and thrive on the natural surroundings of our orchard where they are reared. This is reflected in the incredibly tasty and succulent end product. Our cut flower garden is in full bloom and looks stunning so we wanted to share a few pics with you. As you can see it’s an array of colour just now from the highly scented roses to the bright red salvia hot lips.
