Preserves

All our preserves, chutneys and relishes are handmade, in small quantities by Tina and her team in the kitchen on site. Wherever possible we use ingredients from the smallholding or locally sourced producers and our range changes to reflect the seasons and the bounty of our crops!

Free Range Eggs

We have a flock over 100 browns hens who roam freely in and around our orchard and paddocks on the smallholding, laying delicious eggs which are used in all our home baking and are available for sale at the farm shop. These hybrid birds have been specifically chosen as they are known to be prolific egg layers. Many of our customers have commented on how yellow they are – we believe it is down to their great outdoor life! We also have a small number of bantams, who produce smaller eggs and a couple of ducks, who lay a slightly bigger and richer egg with a firmer blue tinged shell.

Plants to Grow

With a previous history in horticulture, Tina decided early on that a cut flower patch would form part of the gardens at the smallholding, along with a small nursery specializing in cottage garden plants with a variety of perennials, annuals and shrubs. Over the years the cutting garden has developed and we are now able to offer plants and cut flowers grown from our own harvested seed.

Seasonal Fruit and Veg

An integral part of life on the smallholding is our fruit and vegetable patches and orchard where we work with the seasons growing and harvesting produce; rotating crops and animals to work the land and experimenting with new varieties including heritage seeds.

Sheepskins and Hides

A limited number of our rare breed sheepskins and cow hides are processed by a long established tannery based in Devon, to produce luxurious rugs and individual floor coverings for your home. Each rug is unique and varies in natural colour, pattern and wool length.

Woven Wool Products

The raw fleeces from our homebred Shetlands and Welsh breeds are sent to a family owned mill in Dyfed, Wales, where the wool is processed and transformed into a beautiful array of finished woven products, including throws, cushions, scarves and knee blankets.
